Editing Geometry

Hello, I am a university student working on simulating an oven in Comsol 4.2. The oven simulated by drawing two cylinders using the geometry function. I added all the physics necessary which will simulate the oven such as conduction, convection and radiation. Now I am required to design a view port for the oven. How can i edit the existing model to facilitate this port?

Hi

it depends if you want it as a cut out of your boundary or a 3D domain extruded from the domain.

I would try to select the boundary where you want the window, make a worplane, draw your circle at the appropriate location (you see the cut view of the rest of the geometry in blue). That is enough for a boundary cut, if you want it in 3D, then extrude the workplane over the window thickness.

All this assumes a "flat" boundry to define your workplane on it. If this is not the case you need to define manually a plane "inside our outside of your boundary, then extrude a cylinder for the window, and play with the union/differences a bit to simplify your geometry (if required)
